近年来,主持国家自然科学基金3项、博士后基金1项、广东省自然基金1项。在行业内主流期刊《ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing》、《Computers, Environment and Urban Systems》、《Cities》、《Transactions in GIS》、《International Journal of Remote Sensing》、《Remote Sensing》、《Ecological Indicators》、《Sustainability》、《ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information》、《测绘学报》、《武汉大学学报.信息科学版》、《中南大学学报.自然科学版》等公开发表论文50余篇,以第一作者/通讯作者发表SCI/SSCI论文20余篇。中文核心期刊《地理信息世界》编委;国内外多个顶级期刊审稿人。以第一发明人已授权发明专利10余项。科研成果获奖5项,其中以第一完成人获国家测绘科技进步奖1项,国家地理信息科技进步奖1项,获省部级科学技术一等奖3项。
研究方向为地理时空大数据研究与应用:发展了一套面向领域应用的地理大数据汇集与表达的理论框架,解决了多源异构时空大数据在地表覆盖领域应用的难题;将景观生态学的基础理论引入到地理大数据研究中,突破了时空大数据在地理学研究中定量计算和描述的困境,取得了一系列原创性成果。时空大数据领域的科研成果已应用于自然资源部陈军院士牵头的全球30米地表覆盖产品中“标报”和“验证”模块,取得了重要的社会和应用效益。城市景观领域的研究成果已经在深圳规划院、广州规划院、威海规划院等单位实现了科技成果转化,应用于城市功能区识别、商业模式分析、贫困测度等诸多实际应用领域,取得了较好的社会效益和经济效益。同时基于已有研究成果,融合时空大数据智能获取技术、智能化数据建模算法、深度学习等人工智能数据挖掘手段,开展智慧城市行业应用研究。相关成果可为数字孪生城市、智慧矿区、智慧规划、智慧文旅、智慧农业、智慧安防等行业应用提供基础地理数据,提供应用所需的技术手段及服务。
